Congestion Charge and ULEZ weekly cost estimator
Work out what London's two daily charges cost you in a week and a year, from the days you drive in the zones and the type of vehicle you drive.
What this assumes
- Congestion Charge: a daily charge you pay once per charging day however many times you enter the zone. The amount and the late-payment amount come from TfL and were last checked on 2 October 2026.
- Private hire vehicles are not exempt. TfL says only wheelchair-accessible PHVs are exempt, and only when carrying out a booking for a TfL-licensed operator. The estimator applies that exemption only if you tick the box, so tick it only if it is true for every trip.
- Electric cars can get a percentage discount if the vehicle is registered for Auto Pay. The old full discount for electric vehicles ended on 25 December 2025.
- ULEZ: a daily charge for a vehicle that does not meet the standard, which covers all London boroughs and runs every day. A vehicle that meets the standard pays nothing.
- Charging hours: today the hours are 07:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday and 12:00 to 18:00 on Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays. TfL Notice 02/26 (9 January 2026) says 07:00 to 18:00 every day, which conflicts with TfL's own pages and Mayoral decision MD3442, so it is probably a drafting error. The charge is 18 pounds (21 pounds if paid after travel) from 2 January 2026. Weekend days are a separate box for you to fill in, and you should check the TfL zone page before relying on this.
- Not covered: penalty charge notices, the Blackwall and Silvertown tunnel charges, other low emission zones outside London, and any licensing rules about which vehicles TfL will license. We have not verified those, so please check TfL's vehicle licensing pages.
An estimate, not advice. Charges, hours, discounts and exemptions change and have conditions. TfL's pages are the authority. Your figures are saved only in this browser, and are shared with the running-cost comparison.
