About PHVLondon

PHVLondon is a free, independent guide for people getting, or already holding, a London private hire driver licence.

What we do

We turn the official rules into plain English, give you practice questions to test your understanding, and offer simple calculators for licence costs and weekly earnings.

What we are not

• We are not part of, approved by or connected to Transport for London (TfL). TfL is the licensing authority and its pages are the final word.
• We do not give legal, tax or financial advice.
• We do not run the SERU assessment and we do not have access to its questions.

How we check things

Guides are written from TfL's Private Hire Vehicle Driver's Handbook and TfL's published licence page, and each shows the date we last checked. Read the editorial policy for the full approach, including how we handle corrections.

The site is run by an independent publisher. We do not present anyone as an expert or use credentials we cannot back up. If you spot something wrong, please tell us.
